Social Media Is Buzzing Over A Potential Deshaun Watson for Chase Young Trade

Every team in need of a quarterback has been tied to Deshaun Watson. That list includes the Washington Football Team. WFT missed badly when they selected Dwayne Haskins Jr., who has already been cut, and heroic veteran Alex Smith is no permanent fix, assuming he decides not to retire. Which is to say, Washington should be a player in the busy quarterback market, a market that features the Houston Texans.

The biggest prize among veterans known to be available is Deshaun Watson, who has requested a trade from the Houston Texans. Could Washington make a run at the Houston star quarterback? What would the trade even look like? Many fans are speculating that defensive phenom Chase Young would have to be a part of any trade between Washington and Houston involving Watson.

Fans have taken to social media to weigh in on whether or not Chase Young should be given up for Deshaun Watson.

Chase is fantastic, but if Houston asks for him in a package for Deshaun, you automatically at least consider it. Elite QB>Elite Edge.

I think this is the most intriguing trade proposal I’ve seen yet. We saw how expensive quarterbacks can be when the Los Angeles Rams gave up an absolute haul for Matthew Stafford. Does that mean a guy of Chase Young’s caliber could be in play if/when Deshaun Watson gets traded? I think the answer to that question is a resounding, YES.

Deshaun Watson is a top-tier talent in the prime of his career. Trading draft picks won’t be enough to land a quarterback like him. A star player is going to need to be involved. If that means Chase Young, then so be it. If I were the Washington Football Team, I would give any defensive player – Chase Young included – to the Houston Texans for the chance at Deshaun Watson.
