Russell Westbrook’s wife, Nina Westbrook, has been active on social media this past week to shed some light on all the things her family has been forced to endure during Russ’ lackluster year with the Lakers.
Last week, Nina had a back and forth with Skip Bayless about all the things he’s been saying about her husband throughout the season.

Later, Nina Westbrook revealed that she’s been having a tough time lately thanks (in part) to all the harassment and death threats that have been thrown her way by some members of Lakers Nation.
âWhen Iâm being harassed on a daily basis over basketball games, and Iâm having obscenities and death wishes for me and my family sent my way because youâre expressing your âtruth,â itâs hard for me to get on board with that,â Nina wrote on Twitter.
âI donât do the things that I do to receive attention, to get clicks, or for show,â she continued. âThis is not a game to me. Basketball is a game. This is my life, my childrenâs lives, and my familiesâ life. Shaming anyone for any reason is never the answer.â
After the loss to the Spurs on Monday night, Russell Westbrook spoke out on all the hate that his wife and the rest of the family have gotten over the year, saying he’s scared to have them at games anymore.
âI 100% stand behind my wife and… itâs not just about this year,â Russell said. âRight now, sheâs reached a point and my family has reached a point to where itâs really weighing on them and itâs very unfortunate just for me personally because this is just a game. This is not end all be all. When it comes to basketball I donât mind the criticism of missing and making shots but the moment it becomes where my name is getting shamed, it becomes an issue.â

With the loss on Monday, Russell Westbrook and the Lakers dropped to an extremely disappointing 28-35 record on the season, good for ninth place in the Western Conference.
In the future, it’s hard to really imagine a Lakers team with Westbrook running point. And hopefully, wherever destination is next for Russ, Nina Westbrook, and the rest of the family, will treat them a lot better than Los Angeles.
