Rumors Heat Up After Seahawks Send Letter To Season Ticket Holders Without Mentioning Russell Wilson

The Russell Wilson saga is going through its many twists and turns.

At this point, it’s hard not to acknowledge that there is something off between Wilson and the Seahawks organization. Wilson has reportedly been upset with his lack of input on the team’s personnel decisions. The quarterback’s agent has even given a list of four potential teams that Wilson would accept in a trade scenario. You don’t do that unless there is a very real divide.

Now, there’s even more gasoline being poured on the Russell Wilson fire. Seahawks season ticket holders received a letter about the team’s future plans, and what the organization is excited about. The letter mentions the likes of receivers Tyler Lockett and D.K. Metcalf. Interestingly enough, there was no mention of Russell Wilson.

This could mean very little, or it could be an indication that the trade talks on Russell Wilson are starting to heat up.

The Dallas Cowboys, who were listed as one of the four teams Wilson would play for, have now locked up Dak Prescott, so they’ll be off the table. The other three teams remaining are the Saints, Bears and Raiders. The Raiders have given a vote of confidence to Derek Carr, although they’d likely abandon that if Wilson was a real possibility.

That leaves the Bears and Saints. Drew Brees has yet to officially retire, and could actually return to the Saints, in spite of his age. The Saints are also in one of the worst cap-space predicaments in the league.

So now, the only team remaining is the Bears – the team with a head coach and general manager on the hot seat. Would Russell Wilson really want to go to a Chicago Bears team that has been consistently stuck in mediocrity for the past 30 years? Time will tell.

For what it’s worth, I still think Russell Wilson starts next season with the Seahawks.
