Richard Sherman Releases Statement On “Burglary Domestic Violence” Arrest

Veteran NFL cornerback Richard Sherman has been all over the news this week after he was arrested and jailed on a “burglary domestic violence” charge.

A video showed Sherman show up to his in-laws’ house early Wednesday morning, trying to force his way in through the front door.

Richard Sherman was released from jail, and released a statement on the incident on Friday.

“I am deeply remorseful for my actions on Tuesday night,” Richard Sherman wrote. “I behaved in a manner I am not proud of. I have been dealing with some personal challenges over the last several months, but that is not an excuse for how I acted.

“The importance of mental and emotional health is extremely real and I vow to get the help I need. I appreciate all of the people who have reached out in support of me and my family, including our community here in Seattle. I am grateful to have such an amazing wife, family and support system to lean on during this time.”

Richard Sherman’s statement not only serves as an apology, but also should be pretty worrisome for NFL fans who have watched him dominate the league for so long.

Sherman is letting his guard down, and revealing that he’s ready to get help for some mental issues going on with him right now.

We’re all wishing Richard Sherman the best, and hope he finds the help that he needs.
