Looks like there’s no QB controversy in New England.
New England came out the gate pretty slow offensively to start the season and ended up with just 1-2 record with second-year quarterback Mac Jones under center. Jones suffered a severe ankle injury in a Week 3 loss to the Baltimore Ravens and was replaced in the following game by veteran backup Brian Hoyer. Hoyer got injured in the following game against the Packers and replaced by rookie Bailey Zappe.
Zappe has been really good, at least much better than expected, which has resulted in plenty of chatter about who should be the starting QB moving forward.
There’s been a reported quarterback controversy brewing in New England between Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe. Though those reports have since been refuted and there was even a false report that Mac Jones has a bat attitude. Now it appears we finally have an answer to New England’s future at the quarterback position.
Jeff P. Howe of The Athletic reports that “when Mac Jones is healthy enough to return to play, he’ll be the starter.”

Apparently not everyone is pleased with the latest news about the Pats starting QB moving forward.
Bad decision.
Maybe Zappe is playing over his head right now but Mac Jones will never be as aggressive thrower as Zappe is.
Zappe should be the starter until he LOSES the job.

Jones finished second in the Rookie of the Year voting a year ago. He also made the Pro Bowl despite throwing for just 22 touchdowns and 13 interceptions.
For now, at least, his job appears safe in New England and Bill Belichick can finally put the questions to bed.
But you better believe Belichick will bench him if he struggles.
