Oh, So Now Manfred And The MLB Are Open To Using Bubble Sites. I Wonder Why That Is?

I previously wrote about how MLB commissioner Rob Manfred blatantly turned down the option to use bubble locations for the regular season. Now, with the Marlins’ and the Cardinals’ COVID outbreaks, all of the sudden he is open to it for the playoffs. Gee, I wonder why that could be?

Manfred has not failed to amaze me. And not in a positive way, either. First, he denies bubble sites, then the season is off, then it’s back on, and four days in Marlins test positive for COVID. Now, after that fiasco, the MLB is ready to consider using bubble sites? What a mess and an absolute joke. The NBA, and now the NHL have been very successful with using bubble locations. It really isn’t a difficult concept. Hell, if Adam Silver was the POTUS, I fully believe we would be out of quarantine by now living relatively normal lives. But nope, here we are.

As weird as baseball has been this season, this is a positive thing. Maybe I’ll enjoy it more now. But why wait until the playoffs? Scheduling is already a nightmare. Start getting the bubble sites ready now, throw in a little mini All-Star break, and get the players in the hubs and ready to pick back up the season. Seems pretty elementary to me, but what do I know? Apparently more than Manfred, but that isn’t saying a whole lot.

Whatever the MLB has to do to get things right they need to figure it out sooner, rather than later. I have been thoroughly enjoying the NBA and NHL, making the MLB an afterthought. Get it done, Manfred. It should not be a difficult decision.
