NFL WR Marquise Goodwin Fails To Qualify For 2021 Summer Olympics

Chicago Bears WR Marquise Goodwin fell short in his bid to participate in the 2021 Summer Olympics as he finished 19th out of 24 participants at the U.S. Olympic Trials for long jump.

Goodwin’s best jump was 24’10” on Friday, which was much shorter than his 27′ jump to win the Olympic Trials prior to the 2012 Olympic Games in London. He finished 10th at those games.

Goodwin also fell short in his attempt to qualify for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.

He is most recently coming off a missed season as he decided to opt-out of playing for the San Francisco 49ers during the COVID affected season. Goodwin recently signed a one-year deal with the Chicago Bears presumably to take the spot of former smaller-sized speed player Taylor Gabriel who retired in April.

Goodwin’s most productive season came in 2017 with the 49ers as he accumulated 56 receptions for 962 yards and 4 TDs.

He will now at least be able to take part in camp this season with his new team to develop chemistry with both of the new Bears’ QBs.
