Dabo Swinney Is Back With Another Freezing Cold Take

Dabo Swinney is one of the most outspoken coaches in college football. He has had several pretty lame takes when it comes to the nature of college football. Players shouldn’t kneen during the anthem, or get paid for their likeness, you name it. One thing is very clear: Swinney is not a fan of a six-win Ohio State team making the college football playoff.

Well, unfortunately for Dabo Swinney Ohio State made the playoff. According to coach Swinney, not only does Ohio State not belong in the playoff, but they also aren’t even a top-10 team in the nation. Swinney ranked the Buckeyes 11th in his final Coache’s Poll ballot of the year.

Cincinnati, Oklahoma, Coastal Carolina, and Iowa State are among teams that should be ranked ahead of the Buckeyes according to Dabo Swinney. Even after the Playoff was set on Sunday, Swinney stuck to his opinion about a six-win team making it. “I think the games matter. I think the mental and physical toll of a season, there’s nobody out there that would say somebody who’s played 11 games versus somebody who’s played six is better physically,” Swinney said on Sunday.

Dabo Swinney can say what he wants, but Ohio State belongs in the college football playoffs. They have one of the best players in the nation in Justin Fields. Regardless, ranking them below Coastal Carolina is simply just disrespectful. However, Swinney will have a chance to make good on his statements as his Tigers will face the Buckeyes in the college football playoffs. Thanks to Dabo Swinney, both teams have a little bulletin board material, which should make for a great game between the two powerhouse teams on New Years Day.
