James Harden Trade: Nets and Rockets Reportedly Reach Verbal Deal

Is NBA superstar James Harden heading East? The rumor mill churned after Harden asked the Houston Rockets for a trade, preferably to the Brooklyn Nets. If Harden gets his way he’ll join a team that employs fellow superstars Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, and probably not much else. Anthony Puccio tweets that league sources believe the Nets and Rockets have a “verbal agreement” on a blockbuster James Harden trade that will change the face of both franchises and shift the power structure of the NBA for the third time in two days.

The report doesn’t provide details on the “agreement,” and the deal definitely isn’t official, so Brooklyn fans may not want to celebrate just yet.

The Brooklyn Nets and Houston Rockets are nearing a deal to send James Harden to Brooklyn, according to multiple sources close to FOS.

The deal isn’t “official”, but sources say a deal is in place and the two teams had a “verbal agreement.” Harden declined a two-year, $103 million extension so he could force a trade to Brooklyn.

The Nets declined comment on the report. Looks like it’s only a matter of time before this deal happens.
