NBA World Baffled As Lakers Opt To Stand Pat At Deadline

LeBron James has been hinting that the cloud of the Trade Deadline has been wearing on the struggling Lakers  all week long. And after their latest disappointing loss on Wednesday (this time to the Damian Lillard-less Trail Blazers), James seemed to hint at moves coming on Thursday.

“Obviously it’s something that’s weighing on this group that we’re trying to all get through,” James said after the loss to Portland. “Almost feels like it’s like fog, just fog in the air and we’re trying to see what’s on the other side of it. I obviously take today, take tomorrow like any other day and if something changes, then I’ll approach it.

“But I’m literally just tired as hell right now. I just want to get some wine and get into bed and wake up tomorrow and feel good about what tomorrow has in store and we’ll see what happens. We’ll see what happens as far as the deadline, but other than that I’m kind of just focused on what we can do to be better.”

But on Thursday, Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka didn’t pull the trigger on any deals that could potential improve the talent around LeBron James.

Fans reacted to the news that no blockbuster was in store for LeBron and the Lakers this season.

LeBron James’ Lakers have been an utter disappointment this season after adding Russell Westbrook, Carmelo Anthony and Malik Monk during last offseason.

On the season, they’re 26-30, and wouldn’t even be in the playoffs if the season were to end today.

For now, it looks like LeBron James is going to have to settle for the Lakers punting on 2022, with hopes that maybe they can rebuild their roster once this disastrous season ends.
