It doesn’t appear that Lamar Jackson is very close to a contract extension with the Baltimore Ravens.
The 2019 MVP Award winner has been talking with the Ravens all offseason about a potential contract extension — being as he’s entering the last season of his rookie deal — but so far the sides seem very far apart.
NFL insider Mike Garafolo said on NFL Network this week that the two sides a re so far apart, that Lamar Jackson isn’t even bothering answering the phone when the Ravens send him contract offers.
Mike Garafolo just said on NFL Network that Lamar doesn’t even respond to the Ravens’ inquiries about his contract at this point.

“I think it takes two sides to actively put their heads together and get a deal worked out,” DeCosta said at the NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis. “We are ready to be there for Lamar at any point when he decides that he really wants to work on it, we will be.”
For now, it appears that both Lamar Jackson and the Ravens are content with the signal-caller beginning the 2022-23 season without a new deal in place.
