Jayson Tatum And Jaylen Brown Held A Joint Presser To Speak Out Against The Treatment Of Violent Capitol Building Protestors

Celtics star players Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown are quite the tandem on the court, and they’re proving to be a powerful duo off of it, too.

After the Celtics defeated the Miami Heat earlier tonight, Brown and Tatum stood together and spoke out about how they felt when seeing the violent MAGA protestors break into the Capitol Building today.

“There is two split different America’s,” Jaylen Brown said. “In one America you get killed by sleeping in your car, selling cigarettes or playing in your backyard. In another America, you get to storm the Capitol. No tear gas, no massive arrests.”

Jayson Tatum shared his thoughts as well.

“They’re rioting the capital for losing an election. It’s two different things. I want the same energy on TV to be, ‘they’re thugs’ and ‘they’re criminals,’ the same terms that they use when they see our people protesting for losing our lives,” Tatum said.

I think this speaks to how mature and impressive these two young Celtics stars are. They obviously didn’t have to come out and say anything, and you could tell if wasn’t easy for them to talk about something that bothers them as much as the Capitol Building siege did. They spoke out because they believe in the fight for racial equality.

Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown continue to use their platforms to spread their powerful message.
