‘Hi Saban’ Reporter Raya Turner Explains Her Unusual Greeting

People were up in arms over a reporter not addressing Nick Saban “properly.” There are a few different ways to approach this, one could go with “Coach” or “Coach Saban,” of course, or if you know him on a very personal level, it may be ok to call him “Nick,” just not in a professional setting. Sports journalist Raya Turner is apparently learning this the hard way.

Now the reporter in question, former Alabama cheerleader turned sports reporter Raya Turner, is trying to explain herself. She went on the 3 Man Front podcast to try to discuss the unusual greeting.

Of course the greeting got her to go viral, so not all bad. She learned her lesson, and said she’ll never make that mistake again. But hopefully someone will, we all need more meaningless content to write about.
