ESPN Ranks Zion Above a Shocking Amount of NBA Players

ESPN is fully aboard the Zion Williamson hype train after his headline-drenched, star-studded 24-game rookie season.

Zion is ranked No. 19 on ESPN’s Top 100 NBA players for the upcoming 2020-21 season.

This spot puts him above Paul George, Jamal Murray, Bradley Beal, Karl Anthony Towns, Kyrie Irving, Rudy Gobert, CJ McCollum, Russell Westbrook and others.

Paul George is coming off of one of his worst playoff performances. Jamal Murray did the opposite and proved he’s the real deal after his bubble performance. And Bradley Beal was the second leading scorer in the league.

While Zion was impressive in his limited debut, averaging 23 points and 6 rebounds on 58 percent shooting, he also missed 48 games.

Other grievances from the ESPN list appeared with Zion’s teammate, Lonzo Ball. ESPN can’t get enough of New Orleans in 2021.

While Ball had his best year to date, his performance in the bubble made everyone doubt his potential once again. After averaging 12 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists on the year, he made just 18 shots over seven bubble games on 30.5% shooting. He finished the bubble with just 7 points, 5 rebounds and 6.6 assists.

DeRozan took offense to his No. 82 ranking, calling ESPN clowns with colorful emojis.

While DeRozan didn’t have a successful season with San Antonio, he still put up 22-5.5-5.5 splits on 53% shooting.

How ESPN ranks these players is all speculation and opinion, but we’ll see how accurate this list is. The NBA season debuts December 22.
