Colin Cowherd Has a Theory on Who Will Replace Russell Wilson If He Gets Traded

The Russell Wilson sweepstakes is still alive and well. While no one really knows what’s going on behind the scenes, there’s plenty of speculation on Russ’ future. Most people now believe he won’t be in Seattle come next season. So what if they lose their franchise QB? Well according to Colin Cowherd, they have a plan in place already.

“Here’s how it works, Chicago gives Seattle five first-round picks,” Cowherd said.

“Now they may not be great picks if they get Russell Wilson, but they give up five first-round picks. Nobody else is probably going to offer that.”

Then Cowherd suggested the Seahawks would be simultaneously working on a trade for a quarterback and singles out the Jets’ Sam Darnold, who seems to be on the market.

He also cites Carroll gushing about Darnold. He believes Carroll is sold on Darnold as their long term replacement.

And then he confidently ends with, “very exciting.”

Pete Carroll has to have someone in mind if they are actually considering moving on from Russell.

The USC connection is definitely a thing, and Carroll has gone on record saying Darnold is a great QB.

This would be very exciting! Only time will tell…
