Colin Cowherd Drafts Ideal Statement For Packers To Build Back Trust With Aaron Rodgers

Popular FS1 host Colin Cowherd (like many members of the media) has been all over the Aaron Rodgers drama with the Green Bay Packers.

All offseason, reports have been swirling that the future Hall-of-Famer was fed up with the Packers organization, and wanted out. Rodgers made it clear that there was a lot of truth to the noise when he didn’t show up to Packers’ OTAs or mandatory Training Camp.

Green Bay has been trying helplessly to get the reigning MVP back to Green Bay. But so far, haven’t had any success getting through to him.

On Monday, Colin Cowherd shared his idea for Green Bay if Rodgers were to come back to them. He thinks the team should release a statement on the matter, proving negligence when dealing with Aaron Rodgers.

Here’s how Cowherd’s statement reads:

“We’ve done a poor job of communicating with Aaron,” the Packers say in Cowherd’s statement. “He’s the face of our franchise and the MVP of the league and deserves a certain level of transparency and respect we have failed him in that regard. We’ve had some earnest conversations over the last couple of weeks and could not be excited for our future together.”

In Colin Cowherd’s scenario, Aaron Rodgers would also be releasing a statement.

“The media made this a bigger deal than it was,” Rodgers says in Cowherd’s statement. “I went to Hawaii and enjoyed my offseason, like all NFL players do. I know the Packers are committed to winning and so am I. Over the last month we sat down and ironed out our small differences. In looking forward to getting back out on the field with my teammates, making another deep playoff run, and bringing another Super Bowl to Green Bay.”

In theory, this sounds great. But I think Colin Cowherd might be downplaying how pissed off Aaron Rodgers really is. I also think Rodgers’ ego would like everyone to know how angry he is.

I don’t think Aaron Rodgers wants to play in Green Bay anymore. But if he does end up coming back to the team amid his disgust, maybe we’ll see some sort of version of Colin Cowherd’s scenario.
