Anthony Davis Sounds Off On Lakers Following The Blowout Loss To The Bulls: ‘We Suck’

Anthony Davis and the Lakers are in big trouble.

After losing LeBron James early in the season, the Lakers look ever bit the part of a middle-of-the-pack team in the Western Conference. And on Monday night, it was more of the same frustrations for LA.

Even coming off the second night of a back-to-back, the Bulls came in and steamrolled the Lakers, winning 121-103 (and it didn’t even look that close).

Anthony Davis let his frustrations show, picking up his second technical foul in the second half, which sent him to the showers earlier than his Lakers teammates.

Following the game, Anthony Davis didn’t hold back when speaking on the state of the Lakers right now.

“We suck,” Davis said. “No defense, can’t score. That’s not this third quarter. Every third quarter that we’ve played this season we come out slow, lackadaisical offensively and defensively. We got to get it together. Why? I can’t tell you. But we have to do a better job. We scored 12 points in the third quarter. They scored 40. That’s the game right there. We got to do a better job coming out in the third. Championship team? That’s not us right now. We’re not winning a championship the way we’re playing. We got to be better, and we got to care more for our wins at home, wins in general. That was embarrassing.”

Luckily for Anthony Davis, it appears a re-enforcement is on the way. According to reports, the Lakers expect LeBron James back for the game against the Celtics on Friday.

Which is desperately needed given that LA currently sits at 8-7, and haven’t come close to finding their rhythm yet on the season.

Will LeBron and AD be able to turn the tide in Los Angeles? Or perhaps this is just who the Lakers are right now – a team without a clear identity.
