Alex Rodriguez And Kevin Garnett Are Reportedly Split On Keeping The Timberwolves In Minnesota

Former MLB slugger Alex Rodriguez is having a busy year.

A-Rod famously had a break up with longtime girlfriend Jennifer Lopez. And he is also close to completing a sale to become the next owner of the Minnesota Timberwolves.

While ESPN’s Brian Windhorst is reporting that the deal has hit a bit of a snag, A-Rod is still set on making the T-Wolves deal final.

According to a new report, Rodriguez would look to move the Timberwolves to Seattle, where he played for the beginning of his MLB career.

However, longtime Timberwolves star Kevin Garnett is also in A-Rod’s ownership group. And he (obviously) wants the team to stay put.

Per Charley Walters of the Pioneer Press:

There’s buzz now that Kevin Garnett, who is said to be worth more than $200 million, will be heavily involved in the Timberwolves basketball department if he joins franchise investors Alex Rodriguez and Marc Lore if/when they gain full control in 2023. The word is Garnett, the ex-Timberwolf, wants the franchise to remain in Minnesota but Rodriguez wants to move it to Seattle, where he played for seven seasons.

It’s still unclear what will happen with the Minnesota Timberwolves in the long term. But I can’t really imagine Kevin Garnett being too happy with a plan to move the team out of the city that he loves.

Alex Rodriguez just can’t seem to stay out of the spotlight, and controversy seems to follow him no matter what he does.
