Alex Rodriguez Is Facing Embezzlement Allegations From His Ex Brother-In-Law

Alex Rodriguez has been accused of cheating his former brother-in-law out of money. The allegations are explicitly detailed in a lawsuit that was filed against the former MLB star. Constantine Scurtis, the brother of A-Rod’s ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis, has accused Rodriguez of “racketeering and embezzlement” in connection with a real estate deal.

Scurtis cites text messages and letters that he claims prove A-Rod pushed him out of a real estate deal.

“Mr. Rodriguez will face a jury on August 2, 2021, to answer claims that he and his co-conspirators engaged in a pattern of racketeering and embezzlement,” Scurtis’ attorney Katherine Eskovitz said.

Scurtis first filed a $50 million lawsuit against Rodriguez in July, and A-Rod responded with a countersuit denying the allegations.

A-Rod has dealt with legal battles with his ex-wife in the past, so this isn’t exactly news. However, $50 million isn’t exactly chump change. Even for someone like A-Rod, this is a significant deal of money.

Alex Rodriguez has been divorced since 2008, so it is interesting that these kinds of allegations are coming out this far down the road. A-Rod is currently engaged to pop icon, Jennifer Lopez. The power couple was recently unsuccessful in their attempt to purchase the New York Mets. A-Rod and J-Lo have had their struggles, so you have to wonder what impact these kinds of allegations have had on their relationship. A sum of money like $50 million isn’t exactly water under the bridge.
