Aaron Rodgers used Silence And Meditation To Make ’50/50′ Decision On Retirement

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was the talk of the offseason after it was widely reported that he was contemplating retirement due to a feud with the team’s GM Brian Gutekunst.

Obviously, Rodgers decided to report to the Packers for Training Camp. But that doesn’t mean the reigning MVP wasn’t close to pulling the trigger on retirement.

During and interview with Dan Le Batard, Aaron Rodgers said he felt he was about “50/50” on the retirement decision. And didn’t make up his mind until the week before camp.

“I mean, I felt going into the weekend before camp that I was 50/50,” Aaron Rodgers told Dan Le Batard. “I don’t care if people don’t believe that. That’s true.”

Aaron Rodgers went on to say that he used silence and meditation as tools for making his decision on whether to retire or return to the Green Bay Packers.

“There were some things that got me to 50/50 for sure, and you know I spent a couple of days in silence and meditation and contemplation and really felt like that I should come back,” he said. “There’s a lot of opportunities for growth and exciting things in Green Bay and that felt like the right thing to do.”

Aaron Rodgers and  his actress fiancee, Shailene Woodley, spent the offseason traveling around. And perhaps Rodgers actually felt he’d be happier without the Packers.

But nevertheless, Rodgers is playing, he’s still one of the best, and we’ll see how much longer it lasts between him and the Packers.
