Washington Commanders Asked About Jack Del Rio’s Controversial January 6 Tweet

As if the Washington Commanders didn’t already have enough controversy surrounding their organization, defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio had to get in on all the fun.

Late Tuesday night, Del Rio took to Twitter to openly ponder why we harp so much on the January 6th riot at the Capitol Building, but not all the looting and rioting of the past Summer.

“Would love to understand ‘the whole story’ about why the summer of riots, looting, burning and the destruction of personal property is never discussed but this is ???” Del Rio asked.

Today, reporters asked the Commanders to speak on Jack Del Rio’s tweet, but they offered “no comment”.

Per PFT’s Mike Florio:

“I asked the Commanders if they have any reaction to Del Rio’s tweet. The team has no comment, for now. Del Rio is entitled to his opinion (and we’re entitled to say his opinion is misguided), but he’s not entitled to his facts. Every American should be interested in setting aside partisan politics and listening to the evidence that the committee has developed, with an open mind and the best interests of the country at heart.”

At some point, you’d think Jack Del Rio will have to speak on his tweet amid all the backlash he’s receiving on social media.

But at the end of the day, it’s hard to imagine that he faces much punishment from the league or the Commanders.

We’ll have to wait and see.
