Colin Kaepernick Says He’s In Talks With One NFL Team

Is Colin Kaepernick nearing a return to the NFL?

Earlier in the offseason, Kaepernick posted a video of himself working out — with the attempt to prove that he’s still capable of playing in the league.

On Wednesday, Colin Kaepernick said that he has been in talks with the Seattle Seahawks about a potential signing.

“I’ve had conversations with Pete [Carroll] and John [Schneider] previously,” Kaepernick said. “As Pete mentioned, we’ve spoken recently. Still hoping that door is open and I get a chance to walk through it.”

While a Colin Kaepernick NFL contract doesn’t appear to be imminent, he claimed that he’s been receiving positive feedback around the league after his workouts.

“We’ve been getting positive responses,” Kaepernick told reporters. “Trainers that we’ve seen, organizations that my agent have talked to said I look good. My arm is still alive. I’m still ready to go. More than anything, we’re looking for the opportunity to come in, get some work in and show what I can do.”

Pete Carroll has maintained that Colin Kaepernick deserves a shot again in the NFL. But the team acquired Drew Lock in the Russell Wilson trade, still hopes to bring back Geno Smith, and most recently got linked to Browns QB Baker Mayfield.

It still feels like a long shot that Kaepernick ends up signing in Seattle. But at least he’s receiving some interest from an NFL team finally.
