Cause of Fight Between Former NFL Player, Airlines Worker Revealed

The reason behind the airport fight has been revealed.

Former NFL Player and current CFL player, Brendan Langley, was charged after a fight with a United Airlines employee at Newark Liberty International Airport that was partially caught on video, according to a team statement.

“The Calgary Stampeders football club is aware of the reports concerning Brendan Langley,” the Stampeders said in the statement. “The team is currently looking into the matter in order to learn the full details and will have no further comment until the investigation is complete.”

Now we’re learning  more details about the fight at Newark airport. The cause of the fight is believed to have begun when Langley used a wheelchair to transport his luggage, rather than pay for a luggage cart that cost $5, the Daily Mail reported.

Via Daily Mail.com:

“Langley, who once played in the NFL for the Denver Broncos and most recently played for the Calgary Stampeders in Canada, was the only one arrested.

It’s unclear why the airline worker was not booked. He was taken to the hospital instead to be treated for a wound to his eye whereas Langley was booked on a single count of simple assault on Thursday.

It is believed that the fight began when Langley used a wheelchair to transport his luggage, instead of a paid-for luggage cart which cost $5.

United Airlines has refused to name the passenger or explain exactly what happened but a spokesman told DailyMail.com the worker has now been fired.”

Former NFL player Brendan Langley was signed as a free agent back in February for the Calgary Stampeders. According to the team’s site, he is a former NFL player drafted in 2017 by the Denver Broncos.

He continued to tweet about the incident:

Now Langley will forever be known for his fight at the airport. At least he showed off his boxing skills…
