LeBron James And Russell Westbrook Appeared To Stay Far Away From Each Other During Summer League Game

Last offseason, LeBron James and Russell Westbrook were attached at the hip.

But after their dismal season, it’s been a completely different story altogether this time around.

Amid all the rumors that LeBron is doing everything in his power to have Westbrook replaced with Kyrie Irving for next season, James and Westbrook were spotted at a Lakers Summer League game. However, the two stayed far away from each other, and reports indicate they didn’t even talk at all.

Per The Athletic’s Jovan Buha:

“Westbrook never walked over, though, leaving just as the halftime buzzer sounded. James stayed through the end of the third quarter. The two never acknowledged each other. Perhaps it means something. Perhaps it means everything. Perhaps it means nothing.”

Despite LeBron James’ clear desire for Russell Westbrook to be replaced, new Lakers head coach Darvin Ham recently spoke on how excited he was to coach Russ.

“I love Russell Westbrook, man. Just his mentality, his approach. Just to see him, a guy of that magnitude and everything he’s done in the league to get hated on. But being me, I got a wholehearted plan, a clear plan on how I’m going to use him,” Ham said to ESPN.

Unfortunately for LeBron James, the Lakers haven’t been making too much traction in their pursuit of Kyrie Irving, which may mean he’ll be saddled with Russell Westbrook for another season.

Things could get very awkward over in LA…
