Patrick Mahomes Spills The Tea On A Wild Night With Post Malone After Winning Super Bowl LIV In A GQ Interview

Super Bowl LIV MVP, member of the Madden 99 club and half-billion-dollar man Patrick Mahomes is the newest face of GQ Magazine. Mahomes just can’t stay out of the headlines this offseason. The GQ magazine microscope has led to the demise of several athletes due to some regrettable statements. Mahomes didn’t let it get the best of him. Instead, he told a comical story about a night backstage with Post Malone, and it also included teammate Travis Kelce.

It’s no secret that Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce are a lethal combo on the gridiron, but did you know they are also elite beer pong players? Rapper and singer/songwriter Post Malone had to find out the hard way. Malone was performing in Kansas City on the same night as the Super Bowl parade. He invited the Super Bowl LIV MVP to the show for an exclusive backstage visit. Knowing there would likely be some dilly-dillys involved, Mahomes brought his favorite red zone target and drinking buddy, Travis Kelce. He also brought a jersey to show his respect for Post Malone. Malone obliged and responded with a challenge to a friendly game of beer pong.

Post Malone is known to be very competitive, but when you come at the GOAT, you best not miss. Mahomes and Kelce rode their Super Bowl high to a series of nine or 10 straight victories against Malone & Co. Posty did his best. He tried playing with several different partners, but couldn’t buy a win against the Super Bowl champs. After 14 or 15 games, he decided to up the stakes. Malone asked Mahomes and Kelce to sign their names on a piece of paper, telling them he’d have their autographs tattooed on his body if they beat him again. And they did.

“He has a tattoo artist literally in the room,” Mahomes told GQ. “I’m like, ‘Dude, you do not actually have to get a tattoo of our autographs.’” But Malone stuck to his word.

The best part of the story is that Mahomes and Kelce were both reportedly over 20 beers deep from the parade festivities. Although, Mahomes admitted about half of them ended up on his clothing. I would like to see what his signature looked like at that level of intoxication. Regardless, this is a huge L for Post Malone. Not only did he lose over 15 games in a row, but he’s also got ink to remind him of it. On the other hand, the story is pretty great clout for Posty. Not that he needs any more of it. Moral of the story: Don’t challenge Mahomes and Kelce to a game of BP when they’re already several beers deep.
