Seattle Mariners legend Ichiro Suzuki is with the team as a coach for this year’s Spring Training. Ichiro has been helping the team with a variety of different things. Apparently, one of his tasks includes actually scrimmaging with the team.
To no ones surprise, Ichiro looks like he still has it…even at 47-years of age.

In his one at-bat during the sim game, Ichiro flied out to left field but looked pretty good. Especially considering that he admitted he hadn’t face MLB pitching in nearly two years.
Over his illustrious career, Ichiro played in over 18 seasons in the MLB. This came after he spent the first half of his professional career in Japan. Ichiro didn’t even come to America until he was 27-years-old, which just makes it even more crazy that he’s destined to be a first-ballot Hall-of-Famer. Ichiro ended his ridiculous MLB career with an astounding .311 batting average.
With the Seattle Mariners figuring to be a non-factor in the playoff race this year, maybe they can offer Ichiro a contract? Once a legend, always a legend.
Tip the cap to Ichiro, one of the greatest to ever do it.
