Patrick Mahomes Reportedly Didn’t Have a Concussion, He Tweaked a Nerve in his Neck

Kansas City Chiefs Quarterback Patrick Mahomes was ruled out of the game following a crushing hit. It was quickly determined he had a concussion, and that he would be in concussion protocol this week. Now reports are suggesting it was never a concussion, but rather a tweak in his neck.

“Patrick passed all of his tests last night. He didn’t actually hit his head, there was a nerve in his neck that got tweaked that made him out of it. He’s getting testing done on his neck/nerve today but did clear all tests last night.” @610SportsKC

Looking back at the play, it’s hard to see his head getting hit. This is definitely good news, and this means Patrick will 100% be suiting up against the Bills in the AFC Championship.
