Tony Buzbee Would Like To Remind us Deshaun Watson’s Accusers Won’t Settle

The Deshaun Watson news cycle has slowed down quite a bit, there hasn’t been any new accusers come forward, and there’s been zero movement on the trade front. Today we’re getting much more of the same. While the lawyers briefly returned to the public eye a month ago to take shots at each other regarding settlement talks, now, one of the lawyers is speaking out again.

ā€œIn response to the many queries weā€™ve received about the Deshaun Watson case,ā€ attorney Tony Buzbee said on Instagram, ā€œI typically donā€™t respond to individual press calls, because itā€™s easier for me to make one statement here. As Iā€™ve said: There will not be a settlement, at least anytime soon. I have my best people on the case. That should tell you a lot about our intentions. Lawsuits are all about the work in the trenches. My 17 lawyers, under my supervision, are doing the legal grunt work it takes to prepare the cases for trial and another win. Iā€™ve been doing this for many years, and, as the Texas Bar knows, I have rarely lost. And, these are very important cases ā€” these women matter!! ā€” and our team is doing what it takes in discovery and prep to try these cases to a jury. The press folks say weā€™ve gone ā€˜quiet,ā€™ but the truth is we made clear early on that we wouldnā€™t try these cases in the press and now are doing the important work required for our clients to try these cases to a jury. Itā€™s a lot of work! I would also point out that on a daily basis our firm proudly handles cases for people who have lost loved ones, for people burned beyond recognition, for workers who have had their lives ruined, for people hurt, for people discriminated against, for people wronged, and for people defrauded. Our firm will keep doing that. Thanks for your interest! Stand by.ā€

Sounds like Buzbee is trying to rattle the cages, hoping that he can get that settlement he claims is not going to happen anytime soon.

According to reports, if all cases arenā€™t settled by the time training camp opens,Ā  the NFL needs to inform Watson and the Texans on whether or not heā€™ll be placed on paid leaveĀ after training camp opens.

Watson needs to make this go away any way he can, or his career could be in serious jeopardy.
