Major Betting Action Leads to Buccaneers’ Shifting Odds to Finish With the NFL’s Worst Record

Looks like some are not buying the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this season.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are only one season removed from a Super Bowl victory, and yet some bettors are treating them like they are a bunch of bums.  In case anyone forgot, they do have Tom Brady , who has never finished in last place on any team he’s ever played for. For whatever reason, and probably mostly due to Tom Brady’s absence from the preseason, bettors are placing large wagers on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to finish dead last in the NFL. Yep, you read that right, people truly believe the Bucs will have the least amount of wins in the NFL when it’s all said and done.

There has been so much action on that particular bet, the odds have shifted from 500/1 to 350/1.

To add insult to injury, more money is coming in on the Bucs to finish in the cellar than the Texans, Jets, Lions, Jaguars, Giants, and Panthers. Now that’s just crazy.  Tom Brady is 45 years old, and this is his final year under contract with the Bucs. The biggest reason Brady will play a 23rd NFL season is because he’s still at the top of his game. Last year, he led the NFL in passing yards (5,316) and touchdowns (43).

“At the end of the day, I just love the competition on the field,” Brady says. “And last year was a very bitter ending to a season, and we’ve got to make a lot of corrections and try to improve and put ourselves in a better position to succeed moving forward.”

Tight end Rob Gronkowski announced his second retirement in late June, but for the most part, the roster is mostly intact.

Obviously these bets must be from people who think Tom is going to retire…
