Bettor Goes Large on Yankees to win AL East With Very Little Return on his Investment

The New York Yankees rolled into the All-Star break with MLB’s best record.

New York headed to the All-Star break with a 64-28 record, easily the best in the majors. The Yankees are also 13 games ahead of their closest pursuers in the division standings, with the Tampa Bay Rays at 51-41 at the break. They are playing at an extremely high level to say the least.  The Yankees obviously are the heavy favorites to win the AL pennant, they opened the season with +600 odds.

Now the odds are sitting at -5000 to win the AL East. One bettor is so confident they’re going to wrap up the division, he bet 25 grand on them to do so.

Betting $25,000 to win $500 doesn’t seem like that great of a bet, even if it is most likely a lock.

But don’t see much upside on this one. Bettors love to bet, no matter the odds.

Let’s hope they don’t have an epic collapse.
