Former NBA Star Steve Francis Starting To Swagify His Brand

Retired NBA All-Star Steve Francis was one of the smartest players on the court, and he is proving to be one of the smartest off the court in retirement. Francis has seen his business investments over the years reach a lot of success, and his latest with a company called Swagify, is surely going to be a slam dunk.
Swagify, a print-on-demand company has been teaming-up with various athletes and stars like Francis to help them create their “swag” items in the fashion world for their fan bases.
Behind Swagify is owner Akil Kurji who gave us the low-down on the company and how it is now working with Francis and his brand officialstevefranchise.com, which they helped form during COVID-19 all masked up.
1. Tell us about SWAGIFY and how it initially came to be?

Print on demand is a way for entrepreneurs and businesses to sell products to consumers without having the hassle of holding inventory, or putting forth any upfront cost. For these reasons – I understood the future is within Print On Demand. I wanted to get my foot in the door as soon as possible. With the infrastructure I built doing promotional products, I knew I’d be able to leverage my knowledge and facility to rapidly grow a print on demand business.  Because I come from the promotional product industry I understand the frustration distributors go through when trying to fulfill and source products. It isn’t the easiest task having to manually search for vendors, call to check stock, and then follow up to make sure orders are being fulfilled on time. With Swagify – we enable distributors as well as individuals to sell products online, and choose their vendors through our technology. The technology in Swagify allows users to check stock, choose the lowest price, and track their consumers orders up until delivery. It’s a revolutionary system that hasn’t been tapped into, and Swagify will be the world’s first application that allows these services.

2. Your platform has been sought out by some big athletes like Steve Francis who are using it to help push their own fashion brands. As a CEO, how does it feel to know big stars trust what you are doing with their brands?

It’s definitely nice to know this. However, my goal is to have everyone interested in creating a brand put their trust into Swagify. Whether you’re a new entrepreneur, established business owner, or celebrity – the experience will be the same for all.

3. What types of sports items does SWAGIFY create for people?
Swagify has over 20,000 products in it’s database. Many of these are sports and sport related items. The options are almost endless. We have customizable merch and products for every industry.
4. Is it hard to get licensing for team logos and stuff to print?
It’s a tedious process. Luckily we’ve been able to acquire these kinds of deals over the last years because our reputation speaks for itself. It takes time and consistency, building trust and relationships, in order to obtain these kinds of deals in the business world.
5. What sports items have you seen come in that have been top-sellers?
Sport team stress balls have always been a major hit. However, recently the best seller has been customized full color face masks for sports teams around the nation.
