The college sports dynamic will likely be changing in more ways than one going forward.
After the NCAA implemented a new rule allowing players to now profit off their name, image and likeness, Oklahoma and Texas have been rumored to be looking to move from the Big 12 to the SEC.

On Monday, Texas and their fierce rival, Oklahoma, teamed together for a statement on their SEC aspirations.
“The University of Texas at Austin and The University of Oklahoma notified the Big 12 Athletic Conference today that they will not be renewing their grants of media rights following expiration in 2025. Providing notice to the Big 12 at this point is important in advance of the expiration of the conference’s current media rights agreement. The universities intend to honor their existing grant of rights agreements. However, both universities will continue to monitor the rapidly evolving collegiate athletics landscape as they consider how best to position their athletics programs for the future,” the statement reads.

Shortly thereafter, college football insider Brett McMurphy share his view that Oklahoma and Texas are a ‘lock’ to join the SEC once the Big 12 media rights ends in 2025.
Revisiting a quote from a source last week: “Oklahoma & Texas have been in lock step from the beginning.” Source said schools contacted SEC in December & had already made up mind they were leaving Big 12

It would sure appear that two of the best football schools in the nation are going to be joining the greatest football conference in college sports: The SEC.
While the power dynamic during football season might be completely swayed towards one conference, it will also be fun to watch how things play out in a jam-packed SEC.
