Even amid the MLB lockout, the Carlos Correa rumors are continuing to swirl.
The prized free agent shortstop riled up the entire Chicago Cubs fan base when he commented on a video of fans optimistically chanting his name during a holiday gathering.

Sure enough, a report is now tying Carlos Correa to the North Side of Chicago.
According to Cubs insider Bruce Levine, the team is continuing to so their due diligence on Correa.

Per Levine’s Report:
While contact between MLB teams and players is prohibited amid the ongoing lockout, there remains mutual interest between the Cubs and free-agent shortstop Carlos Correa, according to multiple sources.
The sides had interest before the lockout went into effect on Dec. 1, and no transactions have been allowed since.
Despite the Cubs selling off their core during the difficult 2021 season, it appears as though they’re still buyers this offseason.
The team surprised many when they landed starting pitcher Marcus Stroman right before the lockout took effect. And now they seem to have Carlos Correa as their next target.
Now we just have to end this lockout so we can start to really ramp us these rumors surrounding top free agents.
