Matt Nagy Reiterates That Andy Dalton Is Still The Bears’ Starting Quarterback And Immediately Gets Ripped

Are the Chicago Bears actually going to go back to Andy Dalton?

All last week, Bears coach Matt Nagy was getting ripped by fans who want to see him get fired ASAP.

But on Sunday, the coach deferred to OC Bill Lazor to call plays, the offense looked fine, and Justin Fields got his first win as a starter.

So, it’s Fields’ team now, right? Not so fast.

On Monday, Matt Nagy re-iterated a previous notion that Andy Dalton will be the team’s starting quarterback when he’s healthy.

After Matt Nagy made the announcement, he was immediately ripped by the same Bears fan base who still wants him gone.

In relief of Andy Dalton, Justin Fields put together a solid performance, albeit against a shotty Detroit Lions defense.

The rookie was 11 of 17 for 209 yards and an interception that came from a tipped pass.

The performance was enough to convince the Bears fan base that there is hope for the future of the franchise. But Matt Nagy seems fully prepared to neglect fans the opportunity to continue to get a glimpse at what’s to come.
