Mark Davis Reveals Josh McDaniels Quote That’s Bound To Upset Patriots Fans

Despite all the question marks surrounding his head coaching history, Josh McDaniels has found himself back as a head man in the NBA after nearly a decade spent as the Patriots OC.

Earlier in the week, Raiders owner Mark Davis announced that he was moving on from interim coach Rich Bisaccia in order to hire McDaniels as the team’s next head coach.

During the introductory press conference, Mark Davis shared an anecdote about his interview with Josh McDaniels that’s bound to leave Raiders fans happy and Patriots fans disgusted.

In reference to the controversial “tuck rule” game from the 2001 Divisional Round matchup between the Patriots and Raiders, McDaniels told Davis that he believed Tom Brady did, in fact, fumble on the final drive.

Mark Davis’ revelation about Josh McDaniels was undoubtedly an attempt to get his fanbase to buy-in a little bit more on their next head coach.

When McDaniels was the head coach of the Denver Broncos from 2009-10 it nothing short of a disaster. Not only did McDaniels lose (a lot), but he was also known to rub players and coaches the wrong way during his tenure.

Josh McDaniels has had a long time to learn from his Broncos failure. And Mark Davis certainly hopes he’s getting an improved and polished version of the longtime Patriots OC.
