Lincoln Riley is still public enemy #1 with Oklahoma Sooners fans.
After leaving OU after many years to take the job at USC, Riley took a handful of players from the Sooners, including star quarterback Caleb Williams. But when speaking on the matter, Riley insisted that he didn’t “take” the players, he just reaped the benefits of the transfer portal.
“We didn’t take players from Oklahoma. We took players from the transfer portal,” Lincoln Riley said. “Those players and their families had to make a decision to stay at that university … or to enter the portal where they could be recruited by anybody.”

Lincoln Riley was immediately trolled by Oklahoma fans and National media members alike over his comments about not deliberately taking some of his players with him to the new destination.
Again, with all the kindness I can muster, eat a bag of dicks @LincolnRiley. Eat. All. The. Bags. https://t.co/tg9rl6axLP

What luck for Lincoln Riley, he thought they'd be starting from scratch and just happened to check the transfer portal one afternoon and discovered, Whoa, Caleb Williams is in there! And two other guys he knew from Oklahoma! Whoa, what are the chances?!?! https://t.co/t7PKBGuG5s

Colin Cowherd has spent the past half decade shitting on Baker Mayfield, and Lincoln Riley wasted no time getting all buddy buddy with him since leaving for USC
Says a lot

So glad we get to witness Lincoln Riley’s villain origin story. This due doesn’t just kind of suck. https://t.co/rpsBcuKx8e

Brent Venables tells Jaren Kanak not to come to Oklahoma. There’s no spot. Lincoln Riley performs mental gymnastics explaining how he didn’t raid OU’s recruiting class and roster, which everybody knows he did. https://t.co/Bncxm6nwvz

Obviously, Lincoln Riley had to know his move to leave Oklahoma was going to rub people the wrong way. And there was no scenario where he wasn’t going to try to get some Sooners players to come with him to USC. But to act like he didn’t have a hand in bringing Caleb Williams and others with him is juts a bald-faced lie.
It looks like the “rebuild” with Riley in USC isn’t going to last very long — as he’s already getting some of the top players across the country to join him.
But one thing is for sure: he’s never going to be a very popular guy in Norman, Oklahoma.
