Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James called a prosecutor’s decision not to file charges against a police officer who shot Jacob Blake in Wisconsin this summer a ‘blow to the heart and to the gut. LeBron spoke out on Tuesday after the Los Angeles Lakers won 94-92 over the Memphis Grizzlies.
“I’m smart enough to know that even though we are playing a game of basketball that there’s so much more going on in the world,”
“So much more that’s even more important than us playing a game. To hear what happened in Kenosha today was a blow to the heart and to the gut, not only to that community, but to us and to every Black person that has been a part of this process, seeing these outcomes for so long.”

Lebron james is either ignorant or incapable of understanding facts. There is no in between. https://t.co/CzmSgOwyj0

What does Lebron know of the law or this case outside of what is fed to him? Jacob Blake was armed, he resisted arrest then made to flee (which would endanger more people) when the officers shot him. If you’re innocent, take the ride and sue the dept for wrongful arrest. https://t.co/DjPiVBHVvb

How doesn’t anyone at @espn have the SACK to question this idiotic support for a RAPIST who had a restraining order, she called 911, he resisted, fought cops, got tased, went for a knife and got shot.

Lebron James is such an idiot. The world would be a better place if he listened to @IngrahamAngle and shut up and dribbled. https://t.co/KOJeDwYepE

I’m guessing showing up armed where you’re not allowed to go is ok with King James. https://t.co/Ik6bewD4HG

Unfortunately in this day and age, we need our athletes to step up and do more than just shut up and dribble. Their voices are some of the loudest.
