High School Football Coaches Have Been Given Punishments After Forcing Jewish Player To Eat Pork

Unfortunately, we see some truly disgusting stories about people who we trust to take care of our youth. And this story is just another example.

Eight high school football coaches in Canton, Ohio have been placed on administrative leave after forcing a Hebrew Israelite player to eat pork because he missed a practice.

According to the Washington post, McKinley Senior High School head football coach Marcus Wattley and seven assistant coaches are under fire for forcing an unnamed 17-year old to consume a pepperoni pizza against his wishes.

Per the report:

“Gilbert told The Washington Post on Wednesday that the 17-year-old, who has not been publicly identified, was verbally assaulted by the coaches and faced pressure from his peers to eat the pizza despite his religious beliefs.

Wattley and assistant coaches Badre El Bardawil, Cade Brodie, Joshua Grimsley, Romero Harris, Frank McLeod, Zachary Sweat and Tyler Thatcher were placed on paid administrative leave last week after the district’s superintendent became aware of the situation via a complaint, the Canton Repository reported.”

The student reportedly told the coaches a number of times that he could not eat the food because of his religion, and they just continued to ignore the guy.

The  story would go on to say that the players’ family has plans to sue the school district. The kid is in counseling, and will hopefully recover from this traumatic experience.

It really is a shame that people who kids are supposed to look up to act in such ridiculous ways on a daily basis. Hopefully these eight men are never allowed to coach football again in their lives.
