Former NBA Player Caleb Swanigan Responds to Dramatic Weight Gain

Caleb Swanigan was just in the NBA last year, now he’s a large man. When you think of basketball players, specifically professional ones, you envision tall, lean and slender. Of course there have been some large men in the NBA, but for the most part, basketball players are thin.

So was former NBA player Caleb Swanigan, and nowadays, not so much.

The former Portland Trail Blazers player was in court this week after pleading guilty for a misdemeanor possession of marijuana charge and was given a 180-day suspended sentence with two days time served as part of a plea agreement with prosecutors.

He elaborated on his frustration:

Swanigan was the 26th overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft.

The Trailblazers player averaged 3.0 points and 4.7 rebounds in 13.3 minutes. He only played in 20 games.
