Denver Broncos Fans Aren’t Too Happy With Teddy Bridgewater Getting The Nod Over Drew Lock

On Wednesday, Denver Broncos head coach Vic Fangio announced that veteran Teddy Bridgewater would be the teams starting quarterback, edging out Drew Lock in their Training Camp competition.

Shortly after the news that Teddy Bridgewater would be the guy in Denver, a clearly dejected Drew Lock took the podium to assure fans that he wasn’t going to stop working to get better.

While it could be likely that neither Teddy Bridgewater or Drew Lock are the long term fix for the Broncos, fans were irked that the team went with a journeyman over the kid with some potential.

Coming out of Missou, Drew Lock was a cocky kid with a big arm, plus mobility, and a knack for making plays.

It’s not that he did anything to prove he was the answer for Denver during his time with the team. He clearly struggles with interceptions, and might not be the most adept leader. But what has irked fans in Denver about the whole situation is that it doesn’t really seem like they ever gave the kid enough of a chance

If you’re going to be moving off of a guy you picked in the first round to take over the quarterback position, then you’d hope there’s a rock solid contingency plan in place. The Denver Broncos have journeyman “Teddy Two Gloves” to play safe football for one year before they’ll likely move on to someone else.

Perhaps Drew Lock deserves better, and maybe he’ll find a better situation than Denver somewhere down the road.
