Ugly Details of the Derrius Guice Domestic Violence Allegations Emerge

As with most allegations of domestic violence, the details aren’t too pretty. In the case of now former Washington Football Team’s running back Derrius Guice, the allegations are extremely ugly. This from the Washington Post:

Derrius Guice strangled his girlfriend until she was unconscious in his Ashburn home in March, according to charging documents. When she awoke, the NFL player was crying and tapping her.

Guice was released by the Washington Football Team after the allegations became public last week. Considering the seriousness of the allegations, it is unlikely that Guice will ever play another snap in the NFL.

Guice faces one count of strangulation, a felony, and three counts of assault and battery as well as one count of assault and battery and one count of destruction of property, per Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

Guice was a second-round pick out of LSU in 2018, but barely took the field in his first two seasons for the WFT due to injury. He was expected to be the starting running back in the upcoming 2020 season.
