NASCAR’s Corey LaJoie’s Team Will Debut A ‘Trump 2020’ Branded Car In This Weekend’s Brickyard 400

TMZ Sports – Corey LaJoie’s #32 car is getting a new paint job for NASCAR’s big race Sunday … his team says it’s decking out the ride in a “Trump 2020” theme for the Brickyard 400.

Go Fas Racing revealed the new paint scheme Wednesday … saying it’s partnered with the pro-Trump Patriots of America PAC to create the red, white and blue whip for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway race.

“I am honored to be part of the President’s re-election campaign through the Patriots of America PAC,” team owner Archie St. Hilaire said in a statement.

“As a Trump 2020 supporter, this team will do everything possible to secure victory on and off the track electing President Donald Trump to a second term.”

We’ve all probably gotten to know Corey LaJoie and the middle of the pack NASCAR drivers in DFS tournaments over the last few weeks. Competent guy, not a superstar, no big deal. Regardless of where he stands politically, it seems like his stance was a bit less outwardly supportive of Trump 2020 as the statement from his team owner Archie St. Hilaire:

“With an estimated 75 million NASCAR fans out there, I was surprised that about 15 million of those fans are not registered voters,” 28-year-old LaJoie said after the ride’s paint scheme was announced.

“I will give my best effort to get NASCAR fans registered to vote, through our team efforts on and off the track. When they see the car, hopefully, it makes them race to the polls in November.”

Here’s the Trump 2020 car that LaJoie will run at the Brickyard 400:

I know the Internet. This likely will not go well for Corey LaJoie. And, regardless of what he believes politically, he’s likely going to get a ton of flack for a decision that may be entirely out of his hands. LaJoie’s Twitter went private today so I presume he’s already seeing some of the outcry from people who hate President Trump while being lionized by the people who support him.

And that’s a situation we can all relate to. We’ve all had bosses who overstep a boundary or do something even on an innocuous conference call that makes you die a little inside. Corey LaJoie could be the biggest Trump supporter on Earth or a Chapo’s Trap House socialist and either way he likely knows that he’s going to have to deal with the fallout of his owner’s enthusiasm for GOP campaigning. It’s an awkward spot to be in since LaJoie is the one people will see front and center, not Archie St. Hilaire.

And hey, now that NASCAR is been completely politicized after many fans mad about the removal of Confederate flags said it shouldn’t be, it seems like it’s all fair game now. Bubba Wallace has made some big statements with his platform but maybe a “Bring Back Obama” car with a monitor playing this Key and Peele clip on a loop can be a serviceable rebuttal:
