Brooks Koepka Reveals How the Bryson DeChambeau Beef Started

If you’ve been following the PGA the last few months, you know there’s a major rivalry between two of its biggest stars. Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau clearly don’t like each other, but no one know how the beef really started. Koepka finally shares the origin story behind his beef with Bryson DeChambeau. The rivalry goes all the way back to a tournament in 2019.

During his Wednesday press conference ahead of this week’s Travelers Championship, talked about how it began, and it sounds like it started at the 2019 Northern Trust at Liberty National.

“I thought it was just interesting when he walked up to my caddie and told Ricky (Elliott) that if I had something to say, to say it to his face,” Koepka said. “I thought that was kind of odd, when you don’t walk up to my face, and say it to my caddie.”

Koepka also went on to explain that he and DeChambeau had come to some sort of agreement.

“And when we had that conversation, we agreed on something and he went back on it,” Koepka said. “So, if you’re gonna go back on your word, I don’t have much respect for that.”

In an appearance on ESPN’s Sportscenter on Tuesday, Koepka suggested DeChambeau started the beef and that other Tour pros have said they’re “glad” the eye-roll video went viral.

Clearly all of this drama is great for golf.

It helps bring in the casual fan, and Golf will need more drama when Tiger officially decides to hang it up.
