Boxer Félix Verdejo Surrenders To FBI After Pregnant Woman’s Body Found In Puerto Rico

Boxer Félix Verdejo surrendered to the FBI Sunday night after the body of 27 year-old Keishla Rodriguez was found in Puerto Rico. Rogriguez reportedly showed up to Verdejo’s home earlier this week where she informed him that she was pregnant with his child. Verdejo is married to fashion influencer Eliz Marie with whom the couple has a daughter, Miranda.



Verdejo allegedly called someone on May 27th to ask to help them to help terminate the pregnancy of his girlfriend. He is being charged with kidnapping resulting in death, carjacking resulting in death, intentionally killing an unborn child, and he is eligible for the death penalty if convicted.

Félix Verdego is a lightweight boxer who represented Puerto Rico at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. He has a professional record of 27-2, with 17 knockouts, according to Top Rank. His last fight came on December 12th, 2020 where he was knocked out by Masayoshi Nakatani for the vacant WBO Inter-Continental lightweight title.

The official Top Rank Twitter account released a statement saying that “Their thoughts and prayers are with Keishla Marlen Rodriguez Ortiz’s family and friends, and will all those mourning. We are deeply disturbed by the news reports, and will continue to monitor developments in the case as it progresses.” Verdejo’s Top Rank profile has also been taken down off the website.
