Prior to his last NFL season, Tom Brady made headlines when he went on HBO to talk about his free agency process.
When speaking on the teams that passed him up before he eventually inked a deal with the Bucs, Brady spoke on one team in particular who he couldn’t believe was sticking with their current quarterback over him.
“One of the teams, they weren’t interested at the very end. I was thinking, ‘You’re sticking with that motherf–ker?’” he said.

As part of Brian Flores’ lawsuit against the Miami Dolphins, it was revealed that Miami owner, Stephen Ross, wanted the former coach to meet with Tom Brady prior to the 2020 season.
Instead, the Dolphins stuck with Ryan Fitzpatrick, and drafted Tua Tagovailoa for their future. After that revelation, people were convinced that Brady was talking about Fitz (and not Jimmy Garoppolo) with his damning comments before the season.
Reports of Stephen Ross pressing Flores to recruit Tom Brady would confirm Brady’s “that motherfucker” comments from 2020 were directed at Ryan Fitzpatrick.
This lawsuit is only the tip of the iceberg imo.

Obviously, Tom Brady went on to win the Super Bowl in his first season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. And the Dolphins shuffled back and forth between Ryan Fitzpatrick and Tua Tagovailoa. It resulted in the team maintaining mediocrity throughout the entire season.
To this day, the Dolphins have yet to figure out if Tua is the answer as their franchise quarterback.
If Tom Brady was referring to the Dolphins with his comments to HBO, then I’m sure he’s more than happy that it didn’t end up panning out. He ended up doing just fine in his two seasons with Tampa Bay.
