Andy Reid Reacts To Eric Bieniemy Still Not Landing A Head Coaching Job

The fact that Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy still hasn’t landed a head coaching job is beyond me. For the past two years Bieniemy has been one of the top assistants in the NFL. He’s been passed over time and time again by teams in favor of far inferior coaches. I mean, the Lions reportedly hired a tight ends coach as their head coach today. Chiefs coach Andy Reid isn’t alone in thinking Bieniemy was screwed.

While being passed over, Eric Bieniemy soldiers on, doing a hell of a job in his current gig. As Bieniemy stays mum on his job status, those around him have become increasingly more outspoken about his situation. Chiefs head coach Andy Reid talked about how he feels about Bieniemy earlier today.

“Maybe the best thing I could tell you is I hope he goes to the NFC. Whoever gets him, I think is a very lucky organization. … Somebody I would have loved for my son to have played for,” Reid said. “Whoever gets him is a very lucky organization.”

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes also spoke out on Eric Bieniemy still not having a head coaching job.

“His track record speaks for itself,” Mahomes said via Pro Football Talk. “The type of man he is, the way he can control and be a leader of the locker room and the way that he coaches and schemes he brings to us. If he doesn’t, people are crazy.”

Andy Reid is right, teams are tweaking for passing up on Eric Bieniemy.
