Adam Schefter Still Isn’t Convinced Russell Wilson Will Be A Seahawk This Season

The Chicago Bears ultimately failed in their aggressive pursuit of Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson. However, the trade talks still have not ceased. According to at least one person, there is still a chance Russell Wilson could get traded when it’s all said and done. On Wednesday’s edition of Get Up!, ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter left the door open on a possible Russell Wilson trade. Adam Schefter said that the Seahawks don’t seem comfortable trading Russell Wilson for a lot of draft picks and getting a new quarterback right now. But he believes that they might be as the NFL Draft gets closer.

“I don’t think it’s done, no,” Schefter said. “I don’t think I’m ready to say Russell Wilson is a Seahawk, will be a Seahawk.”

Schefter even suggested the possibility of the Bears working out a deal with Seattle that involved their new signee, Andy Dalton.

Russell Wilson has been a subject of trade ever since he opened up about not getting enough protection from his offensive line. The trade rumors have only grown stronger ever since free agency opened and the Seahawks failed to bring in some of the top prospects at the lineman position.

Adam Schefter may be the only one who still thinks that Russell Wilson is going to get traded. I never saw it happening and I still don’t. Wilson is one of the top two or three quarterbacks in the NFL right now. Trading him for draft picks never seemed like a good idea. Now the question is can he and Seattle settle their score?

Unlike Adam Schefter, I fully expect Russell Wilson to be a Seattle Seahawk this season. It just doesn’t seem like the right time to let him walk. Whether or not Russell Wilson gets traded, he is still a top quarterback in this league. It would be in Seattle’s best interest to keep him and do everything in their power to make him happy.
