Kayvon Thibodeaux Injury Update: Diagnosis Revealed Following Worrisome Preseason Injury

It appears that the Giants have dodged a bullet with a major Kayvon Thibodeaux injury.

During their preseason game against the Bengals, NFL fans started an online debate after Thibodeaux appeared to get taken out with a dirty, low hit near his knee.

He would go on the leave the game on a cart.

Today, the MRI came back on Kayvon Thibodeaux, and luckily it doesn’t appear that he’ll be sidelined for too long.

“Initial tests revealed that Giantsā€™ DE Kayvon Thibodeaux suffered a sprained MCL that is expected to sideline him 3-4 weeks, per source. His ACL and meniscus were intact. Giants are still hopeful that he will be ready for the regular-season opener vs. the Titans, per source,” Adam Schefter reports.

After the game last night, Kayvon Thibodeaux showed confidence that his injury was nothing too major.

ā€œIā€™m good. ā€¦ Weā€™re good. Good news,” he said as cameras were catching him walking out of the stadium without a noticeable limp.

Despite the online debate surrounding the block Bengals’ Thaddeus Moss put on Kayvon Thibodeaux, Giants head coach Brian Daboll didn’t find the play to be dirty.

ā€œWell thatā€™s the rules. We do it as well with TEs and FBs going back to the line of scrimmage. So got to do a good job of playing it. Itā€™s a tough block. But whatever the rules are, those are the rules.ā€

Regardless on your opinion of the block put on Kayvon Thibodeaux Sunday night, today’s news should come as a sigh of relief for Giants fans and members of the organization.
