Jon Gruden Under Fire Once Again After Emails Reportedly Have More Troubling Content Involved

Former Raiders head coach Jon Gruden has found himself in more trouble on Tuesday afternoon.

Gruden was forced to resign from the Raiders last season after his emails sent to former Washington general manager Bruce Allen were found to have racist, sexist, and anti-gay sentiment.

Now, there’s more dirt on the longtime head coach.

In response to a lawsuit Jon Gruden started against the NFL and commissioner Roger Goodell, NFL lawyers claim that he continued to send troubling emails after he became Raiders head coach in 2018.

“In several places, Gruden’s proposed order states that the emails were ‘sent between 2011 and 2018, during which time Gruden was not working as a coach in the NFL but as an employee of ESPN,” the league’s lawyers wrote. “Gruden’s claim (and purported finding of fact) on the timing of his emails is, in reality, very much disputed by the NFL parties and in fact false. Discovery — necessary to make any finding of fact on this issue — will show that Gruden continued to send the same kinds of derogatory emailsconsistently following his start date with the Raiders.”

Back in May, a federal judge ruled against a motion by the NFL to dismiss the Jon Gruden lawsuit, but the latest discovery may play into the league’s favor.

Earlier in the month, Jon Gruden’s agent spoke on the pending lawsuit.

“I really believe in my heart and soul he will coach again,” Gruden’s agent, Bob Lamonte, said. “I’d be very surprised if he didn’t. My question is what did Jon really do? Most people wouldn’t want their private e-mails from 10 days ago looked at. That’s why if this were to go to trial, it would be devastating for the National Football League.”
