Deshaun Watson Reportedly Was Recruiting Free Agents to Join Him in Atlanta

Good thing no listened to Deshaun Watson.

The controversial QB ended up on the Cleveland Browns as his new team, but he was definitely close to joining the Falcons. In fact he was close enough that he actually held conversations with several free agents about joining him in Atlanta.

According to ESPN, Deshaun Watson spoke to free agents Jarvis Landry and Leonard Fournette, he was trying to get them to join him on the Falcons. Of course as now know, Landry and Fournette are not going to be on the Falcons.

Fournette ended up returning to the Buccaneers and Jarvis Landry might just end up back on the Browns.

I suppose Watson wasn’t all that convincing. It seems like nobody was interested in joining Watson on the Falcons.

All’s well that ends well as we know Watson surprisingly ended up on the Browns.

Shooting your shot isn’t a bad thing, but it did feel a a little premature for Watson to go into recruiting mode.
